Spring Break at the Library – Talkeetna Public Library
Talkeetna Public Library TalkeetnaTalkeetna Public Library is holding day-long events during Spring Break through March14th.
Today is Taco Thursday. All are welcome to come and make- and eat- tacos until 5pm, or until the supplies run out.
Friday is Cribbage Day. You can learn how to play cribbage- and checkers- at the Talkeetna Library. In addition, there are jigsaw puzzles to attempt or to take home.
Saturday, 3/14 is Pi Day - Pi is a mathematical term but the Talkeetna Library will not be solving geometry problems, they will be serving Pie from 11am to 5pm, or until the pie runs out.The events are open to all ages. This R-rated movie takes place in 1204 in Norway, where a couple of ski champions try to protect a royal baby. Costumes are encouraged. Doors at 7:30, Film starts at 8pm.

Denali Nordic Ski Club seeking volunteer ski waxers

Oosik Classic Ski Race – Denali Nordic Ski Club
Mile 11 Gravel Pit TalkeetnaThe Denali Nordic Ski Club hosts the annual Oosik Classic Ski Race this Saturday, March 14th. The race start is at the mile 11 gravel pit off the Talkeetna Spur Road. Jr. Oosik starts at 10:00am, the 25K Race starts at 12:15pm and the 50K Race begins at 12pm. Racers may be crossing the finish line by the Boat Launch off of F Street in East Talkeetna between 1 and 6 pm. Please use caution when driving in race areas. Shuttles will run from 9am to 12pm and from 2pm to 6pm. Find more information, including shuttle stops at denalinordicskiclub.org.
