Social Security 101 Webinar – Alaska Commission on Aging
Talkeetna Public Library Talkeetna +1 moreAlaska Commission on Aging is hosting a public webinar with Social Security Administration Regional Public Affairs Specialist, Nathan Cole, on Social Security and Medicare at the Talkeetna Public Library on Tuesday, April 7th, beginning at 12pm. Following the webinar, Sean McPhilamy, a volunteer with the State of Alaska’s Medicare Information Office, will provide an overview on Medicare. After the general discussion, he will be available for one-on-one conversations as needed, until 3pm. If you have questions you need answered, you are welcome to email them ahead of time to doh.acoa.info@alaska.gov. Students are welcome to come and read, work on homework or a craft, and spend time with friends from 3:15 until 5pm every Tuesday. Sunshine Transit is available to pick up students at Talkeetna Elementary School and bring them to the library. Permission slips are required. Seasonal position at the Talkeetna ranger station
The Walter Harper Talkeetna Ranger station is hiring a seasonal Recreation Fee Technician. This front desk position assists in climbing registration, issuing park passes and answering visitor questions through mid-September. Radio Journalism Afterschool Club
Su Valley Jr/Sr High SchoolKTNA and Su Valley High School are collaborating to start a Radio Journalism Afterschool Club for the remainder of the school year. This Club is open to all Su Valley students, from middle to high school level. The Club will meet every Wednesday from 3:15-4:15pm at Su Valley High School beginning March 4th. Talkeetna Elementary SchoolTalkeetna Elementary PTA hosts Competitive Pickleball for knowledgeable players seeking competitive bouts from 5 to 8 pm on Wednesdays. Attendees will rotate through games of four players at a time, equipment is available if you do not have your own. Wednesday evening pickleball is held at Talkeetna Elementary School's gym, play will move outside to the hockey rink when weather and temperatures permit.
