    Radio Journalism Afterschool Club
    Su Valley Jr/Sr High School

    KTNA and Su Valley High School are collaborating to start a Radio Journalism Afterschool Club for the remainder of the school year. This Club is open to all Su Valley students, from middle to high school level. The Club will meet every Wednesday from 3:15-4:15pm at Su Valley High School beginning March 4th.   • Strong Women Exercise Group – Talkeetna Public Library

    Strong Women exercise group meet at 10 am at the Talkeetna Public Library on Tuesdays and Thursdays. A Zoom option is available. This program is aimed at improving strength, balance and flexibility for women over 40 years old. Newcomers are always welcome, weights and instructions are provided.   • Su Valley Band Lab Show Case and Black Water Railroad – Denali Arts Council

    Denali Arts Council presents a showcase of the after-school program, Su Valley Band Lab, at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Friday, May 15th . Blackwater Railroad Company hosted this year's Band Lab. The community is invited to enjoy the presentation of the student's newly acquired skills and stay after for a Blackwater Railroad Concert.   • Car Wash – Su-Valley High School Fundraiser

    There will be a car wash at Su-Valley High School this Saturday, May 16th, from 10:00am to 2:00pm. All dirty cars and trucks are welcome. Proceeds from the car wash will go towards transporting Su-Valley athletes to sporting events.

    Talkeetna Elementary PTA hosts Pick-Up Basketball for teens and adults, 6th grade and up, at Talkeetna Elementary School's gym on Sundays from 6-8 pm. The News Producer writes local stories and oversees the work of staff and volunteer reporters.     Talkeetna Elementary School is hosting Discovery Days on Monday, May 18th through Wednesday, May 20th, from 9:00 to 11:15 AM, and they are looking for community volunteers. Discovery Days give students a chance to explore hands-on activities—from art and music to outdoor skills, STEM, and local business experiences. Students are welcome to come and read, work on homework or a craft, and spend time with friends from 3:15 until 5pm every Tuesday.   • Commencement of the Susitna Valley High School Class of 2026

    All are welcome to attend the commencement of the Susitna Valley High School Class of 2026 on Tuesday, May 19th. The commencement will be held in the gym at the high school. Doors open at 6:30 pm, and the ceremony begins at 7:00. Refreshments will be served by the Talkeetna Bachelors Society.

    The SpongeBob Musical will be showing at Glenn Massay Theater on the campus of Mat-Su College from May 21st through June 6th.
