Reading Mentors – Talkeetna Public Library
Talkeetna Public Library TalkeetnaTalkeetna Public Library's Reading Mentors program is on Tuesdays at 3:15pm. This program is for 1st through 3rd graders and is designed to help new readers get experience and confidence in reading out loud. Transportation from Talkeetna Elementary School to the library will be provided by Sunshine Transit. Appointments available for Income Tax preparation
Upper Susitna Community and Senior Center 16463 E. Helena Ave. / Mile 98.5 Parks Hwy., Sunshine, Alaska +1 moreVolunteers with the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program will be available to help community members with preparing and filing income taxes. Preparation will happen on Wednesdays, beginning February 4th, alternating each week between the Houston City Hall and the Upper Susitna Community & Senior Center.

Krew Fewd 2 – Live Game Show Fundraiser & Art Auction – Talkeenta Skatepark Committee
Sheldon Community Arts HangarThe Talkeenta Skatepark Committee presents Krew Fewd 2 a Live Game Show Fundraiser and Art Auction on Thursday, March 12th at 6pm at the Sheldon Arts Hangar. Attendees are able to bid on skateboards designed by local artists and watch the Family-Feud style game show play out live. Donations are appreciated, all proceeds will go towards building the Talkeetna Skatepark.

CERT Training

Helena Ave. / Mile 98.5 Parks Hwy., Sunshine, AlaskaThe Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) hosts a free 3-day course for teens and adults at the Upper Susitna Community & Senior Center from 9am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday, March 14th and 15th, and Saturday, March 21st.
