    The Talkeetna Skatepark Committee is meeting tonight, Tuesday, March 10th at 6PM at the Talkeetna Public Library. All are welcome to attend. If you'd like to volunteer for their upcoming Game Show, Krew Fewd, they need a couple more people to help out with setup/breakdown of the event and helping out with the deck art auction.     Be A Part of the Conversation is a monthly book club open to the public to discuss challenged books in the Mat-Su Borough. It meets on the second Tuesday of each month at Conscious Coffee. This month's meeting is on Tuesday, March 10th at 6 pm. They will be discussing the book Death in the Jungle by Candace Fleming. All are welcome.   • Spring Break at the Library – Talkeetna Public Library

    Talkeetna Public Library is holding day-long events during Spring Break through March14th.

    Today is Taco Thursday. All are welcome to come and make- and eat- tacos until 5pm, or until the supplies run out.
    Friday is Cribbage Day. You can learn how to play cribbage- and checkers- at the Talkeetna Library. In addition, there are jigsaw puzzles to attempt or to take home.
    Saturday, 3/14 is Pi Day - Pi is a mathematical term but the Talkeetna Library will not be solving geometry problems, they will be serving Pie from 11am to 5pm, or until the pie runs out.

  • Bon Debarras Concert – Denali Arts Council

    The Denali Arts Council presents the musical group Bon Débarras at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Wednesday, March 11th. This Montreal Trio fuses folk music from Quebec, traditional step-dancing, and global influences for a show that is fun and full of energy. Doors open at 6:30pm and the music starts at 7pm.   • Krew Fewd 2 – Live Game Show Fundraiser & Art Auction – Talkeenta Skatepark Committee

    The Talkeenta Skatepark Committee presents Krew Fewd 2 a Live Game Show Fundraiser and Art Auction on Thursday, March 12th at the Sheldon Arts Hangar. Attendees are able to bid on skateboards designed by local artists beginning at 6pm and then watch the Family-Feud style game show play out live at 7pm. Donations are appreciated, all proceeds will go towards building the Talkeetna Skatepark.

    The Denali Arts Council is showing the film The Last King at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Friday, March 13th.  This R-rated movie takes place in 1204 in Norway, where a couple of ski champions try to protect a royal baby. Costumes are encouraged. Doors at 7:30, Film starts at 8pm.

  • Oosik Classic Ski Race – Denali Nordic Ski Club

    The Denali Nordic Ski Club hosts the annual Oosik Classic Ski Race this Saturday, March 14th. The race start is at the mile 11 gravel pit off the Talkeetna Spur Road. Jr. Oosik starts at 10:00am, the 25K Race starts at 12:15pm and the 50K Race begins at 12pm. Racers may be crossing the finish line by the Boat Launch off of F Street in East Talkeetna between 1 and 6 pm. Please use caution when driving in race areas. Shuttles will run from 9am to 12pm and from 2pm to 6pm. Find more information, including shuttle stops at denalinordicskiclub.org.

The theme is Potholes and Promises, Stories of bumps in the road, where they lead and how you kept going. The stories need to be true, written in the first person and seven minutes long.     The Upper Susitna Seniors are hosting a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser at the Upper Susitna Community and Senior Center on Friday, March 20th beginning at 6pm.
