    Denali Arts Council is seeking storytellers for the upcoming Arctic Entries on Saturday, April 4th. The theme is Potholes and Promises, Stories of bumps in the road, where they lead and how you kept going. The stories need to be true, written in the first person and seven minutes long.     KTNA and Su Valley High School are collaborating to offer a Radio Journalism Afterschool Club. This Club is open to all Su Valley students, from middle to high school level. The Club will meet Wednesdays from 3:15-4:15pm for the remainder of the school year at Su Valley High School.     The Talkeetna Community Council is forming a special ad hoc Mainstreet Improvement Committee. They will meet at 6:30pm this Wednesday, March 18th at the Denali Education Center. Agenda items include the selection of officers, the committee goal and brainstorming ideas. All are welcome to attend.

    The Talkeetna Library’s Seed Catalog is up and running. Herb, vegetable, and flower seeds are available. The Library is in need of some herb starts for the community herb garden.     Denali Education Center hosts Career Soup every Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30pm through April 2nd. Career Soup is a weekly watch party of Discover What You Were Born To Do, a 12-week course written by local executive career mentor, Shannon Post. Along with the watch party, there is a potluck and conversation. This course is tailored to those who may engage better in a group setting or need support figuring out the next step.     The Upper Susitna Seniors are hosting a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser at the Upper Susitna Community and Senior Center on Friday, March 20th beginning at 6pm. All are welcome to purchase a dinner of spaghetti, salad and garlic bread. There will also be a silent auction. Students are welcome to come and read, work on homework or a craft, and spend time with friends from 3:15 until 5pm every Tuesday. Sunshine Transit is available to transport students from the Talkeetna Elementary School. Permission slips are required.   • Winter Speaker Series – Elodea in Alaska – Susitna River Coalition

    The Susitna River Coalition hosts a Winter Speaker Series presentation on Elodea (uh-low-dee-uh) in Alaska on Wednesday, March 25th from 6 to 7pm via Zoom. Cody Jacobson of the Alaska Department of Natural Resources – Division of Agriculture will provide an overview of Elodea biology, documented locations in Alaska, and current efforts to control and contain the invasive aquatic plant. Information about potential habitat effects in river systems such as the Susitna drainage will also be discussed.

    The final performance for the Denali Arts Council's Performing Arts Season is the a cappella group Ball in the House on Wednesday, March 25th. Ball in the House is an R&B/Soul/Pop vocal band ​based out of Boston, whose high energy shows have audiences ​singing, dancing, even beatboxing along. Doors open at 6:30pm, music starts at 7pm.
