    The Friends of the Talkeetna Library host computer classes every 2nd and 4th Friday from 1 to 3pm at the Talkeetna Public Library. The classes include: Basic Computing, How Not to Be Fooled by Spam and AI, Basic Internet, Windows 11, and more. The schedule including topics can be found in the event on KTNA's calendar.   • Mother’s Day Concert – Denali Arts Council

    Sheldon Community Arts Hangar

    The Denali Arts Council's Music Academy presents a Mother's Day Concert on Sunday, May 10th at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. The program features the Rhythm and Red Shoes Ensemble, Desperate Measures and the Community Choir, performing a mix of classical and pop pieces. Doors open at 3:30pm and the concert starts at 4pm.   • Su Valley Band Lab Showcase and Blackwater Railroad Concert – Denali Arts Council

    Sheldon Community Arts Hangar

    Alaska band, Blackwater Railroad Company hosted the Denali Arts Council's after school music program Su Valley Band Lab. The students are presenting a showcase of their newly acquired skills at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Friday, May 15th. Doors at 6:30pm, showcase at 7pm.     Glenn Massay Theater

    The SpongeBob Musical will be showing at Glenn Massay Theater on the campus of Mat-Su College from May 21st through June 6th.   • Seeking Volunteers & Ideas for Discovery Days at Talkeetna Elementary

    Talkeetna Elementary School is hosting Discovery Days on Monday, May 18th through Wednesday, May 20th, from 9:00 to 11:15 AM, and they are looking for community volunteers. Discovery Days give students a chance to explore hands-on activities—from art and music to outdoor skills, STEM, and local business experiences.   • Emergency Preparedness Fair – CERT

    The Willow, Talkeetna and Trapper Creek CERT host the 5th Biennial Su Valley Emergency Preparedness Fair at the Willow Community Center from 11am until 2pm on Saturday, May 30th, with education about preparedness for earthquakes, wildfires, floods, CPR, first aid, and backcountry safety. There will be indoor and outdoor exhibits with family activities for all ages, including live demonstrations, an earthquake escape room, door prizes and vendors.   • Talkeetna Historical Society seeking artists

    Talkeetna Museum

    The Talkeetna Historical Society is seeking artists to decorate wooden salmon cutouts for their upcoming Salmon Run Art Auction fundraiser. The completed artwork is due by June 15th. Those who are interested may stop by the museum between 11am and 5pm on Fridays and Saturdays or call Autumn at (907)304-0321 to coordinate a pickup time.
