  • Denali Arts Council Volunteer Meeting

    Denali Arts Council will host a Volunteer Meeting on Tuesday, March 25th at 7pm at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. This meeting is for all current volunteers and those interested in becoming volunteers. All are welcome.

  • Talkeetna Main Street Rehabilitation – D&S Road Services

    D&S Road Services is rehabilitating Main Street in Talkeetna beginning today (Thursday, March 27th). They ask that all vehicles and obstacles remain removed from Main Street for the duration of this project. The work is expected to be completed by 5pm (on Thursday).

    Made for the Stage Performance – Denali Arts Council

    Sheldon Community Arts Hangar

    Denali Arts Council's after school theater program, Made for the Stage, presents their fantasy production, Quest – One Play to Rule them All. There will be three performances at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar:

    • Friday, March 28th will be a soft opening/dress rehearsal. The community is welcome to watch as the kids work through final details of the show. Doors open at 6:30, the show begins at 7pm.
    • On Saturday, March 29th, doors open at 6:30pm and the performance begins at 7pm.
    • A Sunday Matinee is on March 30th, doors open at 1:30 pm and the performance is at 2pm.

  • Teen Book to Movie – Talkeetna Public Library

    Talkeetna Public Library's Teen Book to Movie Program meets Saturday, March 29th at 6pm. The book Enola Holmes by Nancy Springer and the movie will be discussed. Teens ages 13-18 are welcome. There will be snacks and pizza. Pick up time is 8pm at the Talkeetna Library. This is the last meeting until the fall.

    For the month of April, Layla Micheli will have her acrylic art pour on display at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. Layla's art is a therapeutic display on how mindfulness, mediation, and relaxation can be created through art despite a stressful and busy life.

    Talkeetna Public Library hosts Storytime every Thursday at 11:15am. This week kids of all ages are welcome to learn about flowers  paint a flower pot, and plant some seeds for Mother’s Day flowers.   • Choose-Your-Ending Story Ski Night – Talkeetna Elementary School

    Talkeetna Elementary School hosts a Choose-Your-Ending Story Ski Night on Thursday, April 3rd, from 5:00 to 6:30 PM. This Title 1 Event takes place along Talkeetna Elementary School's on-site ski trails, featuring an interactive, choose your own adventure, story. After your ski, you can warm up by a campfire. There will be hot dogs, tater tots, s’mores, and hot cocoa. Ski gear is available for students on a first-come, first-serve basis. All are welcome.     Denali Arts Council hosts the Alaska B4UDIE Comedy Tour on April 3rd and 4th at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. On Thursday; Jessie James Best hosts comedians Alex Morris, Alfred Konuwa, Lou Pharis. Doors open at 6:30pm, and the jokes start at 7. On Friday; comedian Mary Santora takes the stage.     The Susitna Community Council meets the first Thursday of each month at the Upper Susitna Community and Senior Center at 7 pm. The next meeting is on April 3rd, all are welcome. There is now a Zoom option for those who cannot attend in person, you can find the Zoom link on their Facebook Page.
