The Trapper Creek Community Council meets the 3rd Thursday of every month at 6:30pm at the Trapper Community Center. The next meeting is February 19th. All are welcome to attend.

LowDown Brass Band will be performing at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Thursday, February 19th. Embodying the vibrant Chicago music culture, LowDown Brass Band is a horn ensemble weaving the rhythm of the streets with conscious hip hop, reggae, and soul. Denali Arts Council hosts a stained glass workshop on Saturday, February 21st. This 6 hour workshop will be instructed by Debra Whaley, who has been a stained glass artist for 45 years. Participants may choose between 5 different designs. All materials are provided, and participants will take home a completed stained glass project. Participants must be at least 14 years old. The Talkeetna Library hosts a Jigsaw Puzzle Competition on Saturday, February 21st from 12 to 4pm. Teams of two may choose between the two categories: 750 pieces and 500 pieces. The Su Dog 300 Sled Dog Race hosts their Closing Ceremony on Tuesday, February 24th at Willow Community Center beginning at 6pm. You can follow the mushers with the Live Tracker and learn more at sudog300.org.

Due to the extreme temperatures in Fairbanks Thursday evening to Friday morning, the Alaska Railroad is canceling the Thursday/Friday Aurora Winter Train.
Today (Thursday), they are running the Hurricane Turn schedule. Light food service from the Bistro will be available.
On Friday, there will be no train service available.

As of now, the Aurora train is still scheduled for Saturday northbound and Sunday southbound.

The Friends of the Talkeetna Library host computer classes every 2nd and 4th Friday from 1 to 3pm at the Talkeetna Public Library through May 8th. Denali Arts Council presents their annual fundraiser, Raising Spirits, on Saturday, February 28th from 4 to 7pm. This elegant event features artisan-crafted cocktails from five Alaskan distilleries, catered food, aerial performances, and a silent auction. Proceeds raised will support the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar and the Emmila A. Denny Scholarship Fund. Tickets are available at denaliartscouncil.org.

Talkeetna Library hosts the Teen Page to Screen book club on Saturday, February 28th at 6pm. They are discussing the book; The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness and watching the movie based on this book; Chaos Walking. Snacks and treats will be served.
