This variety show showcases some of Talkeetna’s talented community members through music, performance, and artistic expression. Doors open at 6:30pm and the show starts at 7.   • Love on the Loops relay race

    Multi Users of Talkeetna Trails (MUTT) and Denali Nordic Ski Club are hosting Love on the Loops, a combined human and dog powered relay race. The event is at Talkeetna Lakes Park off Comsat Rd. on February 14th, at noon, starting on X lake. Each relay loop is around 5 km and bib pick up is 11:20 am.     Talkeetna Library hosts the Tween Page to Screen book club on Saturday, February 14th from 5 to 7pm. They will be watching the movie adaptation of Alex Rider: Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz.     The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) hosts a free 3-day course for teens and adults at the Upper Susitna Community & Senior Center from 9am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday, March 14th and 15th, and Saturday, March 21st.     Denali Nordic Ski Club hosts a Learn How to Wax Your Skis clinic on Sunday, February 15th from 3 to 6 pm at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. Attendees may bring skate or classic skis, one pair per person. The clinic will host 1 hour of instruction and discussion about types of skis for different uses, followed by 2 hours of participants waxing their own skis. Snacks and beverages will be provided. Embodying the vibrant Chicago music culture, LowDown Brass Band is a horn ensemble weaving the rhythm of the streets with conscious hip hop, reggae, and soul.     Denali Arts Council hosts a stained glass workshop on Saturday, February 21st. This 6 hour workshop will be instructed by Debra Whaley, who has been a stained glass artist for 45 years. Participants may choose between 5 different designs. All materials are provided, and participants will take home a completed stained glass project. Participants must be at least 14 years old.
