  • Su Dog 300 – Sled Dog Race – Soup Dog

    The Su Dog 300 Sled Dog Race continues through February 24th. Soup Dog is on Monday, February 23rd starting at 5pm at the Willow Community Center. This is a community event and soup competition. It's timed so people will come together, enjoy food, and possibly see the first few mushers cross the finish line. All are welcome to attend and cheer on the mushers.   • Train service changes – Alaska Railroad

    Due to the extreme temperatures in Fairbanks Thursday evening to Friday morning, the Alaska Railroad is canceling the Thursday/Friday Aurora Winter Train.
    Today (Thursday), they are running the Hurricane Turn schedule. Light food service from the Bistro will be available.
    On Friday, there will be no train service available.

    As of now, the Aurora train is still scheduled for Saturday northbound and Sunday southbound.

  • Raising Spirits Festival – Denali Arts Council

    Denali Arts Council presents their annual fundraiser, Raising Spirits, on Saturday, February 28th from 4 to 7pm. This elegant event features artisan-crafted cocktails from five Alaskan distilleries, catered food, aerial performances, and a silent auction. Proceeds raised will support the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar and the Emmila A. Denny Scholarship Fund. Tickets are available at denaliartscouncil.org.

    KTNA and Su Valley High School are collaborating to start a Radio Journalism Afterschool Club for the remainder of the school year. This Club is open to all Su Valley students, from middle to high school level. The Club will meet every Wednesday from 3:15-4:15pm at Su Valley High School beginning March 4th.
