Memorial Day Service honoring Veterans
Talkeetna CemeteryThe Myron F (Ace) Ebling Memorial VFW Post and Auxiliary # 3836 is hosting a Memorial Day Service honoring Veterans who served in US armed forces. The service is on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25th at 11:00am at the Talkeetna Cemetery. A pot-luck will follow at the VFW Post on Veteran’s Way immediately after the service. All are welcome.

Emergency Preparedness Fair – CERT
Willow Community CenterThe Willow, Talkeetna and Trapper Creek CERT host the 5th Biennial Su Valley Emergency Preparedness Fair at the Willow Community Center from 11am until 2pm on Saturday, May 30th, with education about preparedness for earthquakes, wildfires, floods, CPR, first aid, and backcountry safety. There will be indoor and outdoor exhibits with family activities for all ages, including live demonstrations, an earthquake escape room, door prizes and vendors. Recycle Revival Music Fest – Valley Recycling

Talkeetna Historical Society seeking artists
Talkeetna MuseumThe Talkeetna Historical Society is seeking artists to decorate wooden salmon cutouts for their upcoming Salmon Run Art Auction fundraiser. The completed artwork is due by June 15th. Those who are interested may stop by the museum between 11am and 5pm on Fridays and Saturdays or call Autumn at (907)304-0321 to coordinate a pickup time.
