  • Tween Page to Screen – Talkeetna Public Library

    Talkeetna Public Library Talkeetna

    Talkeetna Library hosts the Tween Page to Screen book club on Saturday, February 14th from 5 to 7pm. They will be watching the movie adaptation of Alex Rider: Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz.   • Jigsaw Puzzle Competition – Talkeetna Public Library

    The Talkeetna Library hosts a Jigsaw Puzzle Competition on Saturday, February 21st from 12 to 4pm. Teams of two may choose between the two categories: 750 pieces and 500 pieces.     The Friends of the Talkeetna Library host computer classes every 2nd and 4th Friday from 1 to 3pm at the Talkeetna Public Library through May 8th.     Talkeetna Library hosts the Teen Page to Screen book club on Saturday, February 28th at 6pm. They are discussing the book; The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness and watching the movie based on this book; Chaos Walking. Snacks and treats will be served. This 7-week long cooking program is open to 4th and 5th graders and homeschool students are welcome. Transportation from Talkeetna Elementary School to the library will be provided by Sunshine Transit.     Talkeetna Public Library's Reading Mentors program is on Tuesdays at 3:15pm. This program is for 1st through 3rd graders and is designed to help new readers get experience and confidence in reading out loud. Transportation from Talkeetna Elementary School to the library will be provided by Sunshine Transit.     The Talkeetna Library is seeking pie donations for Pi Day on Saturday, March 14th. If you would like to donate a pie, please contact them at (907)861-7645. Pi is a mathematical term but the Talkeetna Library will not be solving geometry problems, they will be serving Pie from 11am to 5pm, or until the pie runs out.

Items include new and lightly used books, videos, audio books, and even some VHS tapes. Proceeds support the Talkeetna Library's programs for all ages. There will also be coffee. The next meeting times and dates will also be discussed. The yearly Seed Catalog is stocked. A wide variety of seeds are available for taking and planting in your gardens.
