    The Reading Mentors program for ages 7 to 9, begins on Tuesday, October 8th from 3:15 to 4:15 pm. This reading program encourages reading out loud and gaining confidence. Sunshine Transit is available to transport students from Talkeetna Elementary School. Preregistration is encouraged, and adult reading mentors are needed.     The Talkeetna Public Library hosts Page to Screen on Saturday, March 22nd from 5 to 7pm at the Talkeetna Library. They will be showing the movie adaptation of The Wild Robot by Peter Brown, there will be pizza and snacks. This program is for tweens ages 9 through 12.     Saturday, April 5th is Game Day at the Talkeetna Public Library from 11am until 6pm. All are welcome to stop by and play games with friends and family. There are some board games available for you to choose from, or you can bring your own.

  • Lightwire Theater Puppeteering & Storytelling Workshop – Denali Arts Council

    Sheldon Community Arts Hangar

    Denali Arts Council and Friends of the Talkeetna Library host Lightwire Theater, presenting a puppeteering and storytelling workshop at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Saturday, April 19th from 10:30 to 11:30am. They will first show off their puppets, demonstrate how they work and answer questions. They will then lead families into creating their own puppets using everyday household items. Open to all ages.     The Friends of the Talkeetna Library, in collaboration with the Denali Arts Council, host an outside concert for kids called Swing makes you Sing with the Svetlana Jazz Band. That's at the Talkeetna Public Library on Saturday, August 23rd at 10am. All are welcome.

The book this month is Leading Men by Christopher Castellani. Copies are available at the library. Coffee, tea, and breakfast finger foods will be served. All are welcome to attend.
