After a three week break Kathleen is back with news about the night sky. The waxing gibbous moon passes bright stars and star clusters and a planet this week. There’s also mention of some anniversary and NASA events that happened last week. A correction is necessary: in this program Kathleen says that the new cupola on the ISS is called Tranquility, but that’s the name of a new cylindrical section added to Station, not the name of the bay window/cupola. Current activity on the sun’s surface warrants checks of the aurora forecast at www.gedds.alaska.edu/AuroraForecast/ every couple of days or so. And do you know who Grote Reber was?
