Enhanced Public Service Announcements
Enhanced Public Service Announcements (EPSA’s) are purchased by non-profit organizations or agencies to guarantee that a message is heard a specific number of times on specific days. These announcements may be part of a long-term informational or educational campaign. KTNA places EPSA’s in a specific rotation, determined by the purchaser and subject to availability. EPSA’s are guided by FCC guidelines to maintain the non-commercial mission and sound of KTNA-FM. EPSA’s can include non-controversial, advocacy messages. All EPSA’s must mention a sponsoring organization that qualifies with the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)3 organization, is a government agency, or is approved by KTNA staff as a qualified organization.
Credits must be approved by both KTNA and the organization prior to airing. Credits are recorded by KTNA staff or volunteer. KTNA reserves the right to review all EPSAs and refuse any that do not meet FCC or station policies and/or the right to edit EPSAs to meet these standards.
EPSAs may include:
- Identification of sponsoring organization. (This message brought to you by….”)
- The “who, what, where, and when” information of the message
- Contact information and/or website
EPSAs may not include:
- Information about prices, discounts or savings
- Qualitative or comparative language
- First person narration (we, our, us, etc..)
- Events that involve elements of prize, chance or consideration (i.e. gaming, raffles)
- Commercial products or services
- Political or religious agendas
EPSAs are limited to 30 or 60 seconds long, and a minimum of 10 spots must be purchased. A production fee of up to $20 per hour may be charged for use of KTNA studio, personnel, and/or production equipment to record EPSAs.
| Length | Rate per Spot |
