KTNA maintains an online announcement and classified page to help keep our listeners informed. Announcements are mainly for nonprofits. Classifieds are for nonprofits as well as individual needs. The KTNA Community Calendar includes all announcements plus additional community events happening at local businesses.

There are three ways you can submit Announcements, Classifieds and events for the Community Calendar: through our online form, via email at info@ktna.org or by calling 907-733-1700.

DeeperCuts celebrates Arizona musicians on tonight’s show. DeeperCuts airs at 9pm on Mondays, on KTNA.

This week’s Talk of Alaska is an episode from the Alaska Survival Kit series.
Alaska is an amazing place. But it’s also a land that can challenge even the hardiest of humans, especially during our long, dark, and cold winters. What helps you stay healthy and happy during tedious times? Alaska Survival Kit is a series that explores the ways Alaskans not only survive but thrive in this remote state. This episode is a rebroadcast and airs on KTNA Tuesday at 10am and 7pm.

KTNA’s Annual Decadent Dessert Auction was a huge success! With the generosity of the Matanuska Valley Credit Union, Jessica Stevens Community Foundation, Talkeetna Air Taxi, and Mountain High Pizza Pie, the proceeds support both KTNA and the Upper Susitna Food Pantry. Thank you to all the bakers that contributed their desserts. Thank you also to the volunteers that helped answer phones, joined a live show in the studio and at the hangar during Complexities of Love. We appreciate everyone who bid in support of this annual fundraiser. We all felt the love!

    Denali Arts Council presents another B Movie Bingo on Tuesday, February 17th at 8 pm. All are welcome for another evening of B rated film, B rated prizes, and A rated fun. Adult theme, over 21 suggested.

  • Stone Soup adult cooking class – Talkeetna Public Library

    Talkeetna Public Library Talkeetna

    Friends of the Talkeetna Library host the next Stone Soup adult cooking class at 5pm on Wednesday, February 18th at the Talkeetna Public Library. All supplies are provided.   • Talkeetna Skatepark Committee meeting

    The Talkeetna Skatepark Committee is meeting on Wednesday, February 18th at 6PM at the Talkeetna Public Library. They are looking for more people who are interested in volunteering. You may email TKAskatepark@gmail.com and visit their Facebook Page for more information.

  • Trapper Creek Community Council Meeting

    Trapper Creek Community Center

    The Trapper Creek Community Council meets the 3rd Thursday of every month at 6:30pm at the Trapper Community Center. The next meeting is February 19th. All are welcome to attend.

  • LowDown Brass Band – Denali Arts Council

    Sheldon Community Arts Hangar

    LowDown Brass Band will be performing at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Thursday, February 19th. Embodying the vibrant Chicago music culture, LowDown Brass Band is a horn ensemble weaving the rhythm of the streets with conscious hip hop, reggae, and soul. Doors open at 6:30pm, and the show starts at 7. Tickets are available at denaliartscouncil.org.

  • Stained Glass Workshop – Denali Arts Council

    Sheldon Community Arts Hangar

    Denali Arts Council hosts a stained glass workshop on Saturday, February 21st. This 6 hour workshop will be instructed by Debra Whaley, who has been a stained glass artist for 45 years. Participants will be able to choose between 5 different designs. All materials will be provided and participants will be able to take a completed stained glass project home. Participants must be 14 years old and older. You can register at denaliartscouncil.org.

  • Jigsaw Puzzle Competition – Talkeetna Public Library

    Talkeetna Public Library Talkeetna

    The Talkeetna Library hosts a Jigsaw Puzzle Competition on Saturday, February 21st from 12 to 4pm. Teams of two may choose between the two categories: 750 pieces and 500 pieces. Space is limited so pre-registration is recommended. You can call Talkeetna Library at 907-861-7645. This event is for all ages, team names are encouraged.

  • Rug Hooking Workshop – Denali Arts Council

    Talkeetna Roadhouse

    Denali Arts Council hosts a beginners rug hooking workshop for Fiber February. This event will be held at the Talkeetna Roadhouse on Sunday, February 22nd at 2PM. All materials are provided. For more information you may send a message to Sandy at tkb@alaska.net.
