Notices have been posted in the Parking Area of Village Park that abandoned vehicles have 30 days to be moved.
The Notices were posted by the Borough Parks and Recreation Department in response to concerns voiced that the abandoned cars use up parking space that would otherwise be used by people who use the parking lot as a departure point for Chase trail. The parking space in winter is in high demand, since many parking area users have trailers.
The park has long had signs that declare the parking lot is not a camping site, but there has so far been no plan of action on what to do about cars that have been left unmoved for months. The vehicles that have been in the same place since summer have had notices attached to them. Any of the notified vehicles remaining at the end of the 30 days will be impounded.
