The Talkeetna Library has selected an Architect to design the new library, pending the approval of the Mat Su Borough. Architects Alaska, who recently designed both the new Sutton library and the library in Big Lake have been chosen to design the new library for Talkeetna, which, once approved, will be located in the lot north of the Playground on the Spur Road.
The Borough Assembly is expected to hear Architects Alaska’s selection at their January 15th meeting. Upon the Assembly’s approval, the design will be drawn, and a number of community meetings will be held within the next 3 months. Money for the 4.5 million dollar structure has been appropriated through State Library Construction Matching Grant, and the Mat-Su Borough’s capitall budget.
