Winter Plein Air Painting class – Denali Arts Council
Sheldon Community Arts HangarWatercolorist, Miles Bloomfield, is instructing a series of Winter Plein Air Painting classes. Classes are from 1 to 4pm at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar each Tuesday in the month of January. This is an outdoor painting class, so participants should dress for the weather. If temperatures are too cold, the class will be held indoors. All supplies are provided. Sign up is available at denaliartscouncil.org. Drop-ins are welcome if space allows.
Final Reading Mentors – Talkeetna Public Library
The Grand Finale of Talkeetna Library’s Reading Mentors is on Tuesday, November 18th at 3:15pm. All mentors and readers in the program are invited to read, listen to stories and enjoy snacks. For more information, you may call the Talkeetna Library at907-861-7645.
Susitna Valley Forest Management Plan Informational Meeting
The Alaska Department of Natural Resources is hosting an informational meeting about the development of an updated Susitna Valley Forest Management Plan. The meeting is in person on Tuesday, November 18th from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the Upper Susitna Community and Senior Center. The purpose of the meeting is to share information about the planning process and how members of the public can participate. An opportunity to provide input related to the proposed Susitna Valley state forest will also be provided at this meeting. Comments may also be emailed to dnr.dof.matsuplanning@alaska.gov.
