Strong Women Exercise Group – Talkeetna Public Library
Talkeetna Public Library TalkeetnaStrong Women exercise group meet at 10 am at the Talkeetna Public Library on Tuesdays and Thursdays. A Zoom option is available. This program is aimed at improving strength, balance and flexibility for women over 40 years old. Newcomers are always welcome, weights and instructions are provided. This week features world famous Robbie the Magician who will entertain all with magic illusions, including birds and rabbits. Jazz Workshop Performance – Denali Arts Council
Sheldon Community Arts HangarDenali Arts Council presents a jazz performance featuring Maestro Rocco John Iacovone /E-ya-ka-vone-ay/ and local Jazz Workshop participates on Thursday, July 2nd at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. Live at Five
Talkeetna Village ParkThe Denali Arts Council and the Talkeetna Chamber of Commerce host Live at Five, an annual Summer Concert series beginning this Friday, May 17th. The weekly concerts are family-friendly and are every Friday from 5-7 pm at the Talkeetna Village Park. The concerts feature bands from Alaska and the lower 48. Volunteer Trail Work Weekend – Alaska Trails
Alaska Trails is organizing a two-day volunteer event, July 25th and 26th, on Ermine Hill Trail in Denali State Park. Volunteers will replace one of the foot bridges and repair sections of trail tread to allow for proper drainage. Hiking is challenging on steep terrain with between 3-4 miles total hiked each day. Volunteers will work both Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 to 3:30pm and have the opportunity to camp at Byers Lake Campground.
