Willow 4th of July Parade & Celebration
Willow Community CenterThe Willow Area Community Organization (WACO) hosts Willow's 4th of July Parade and Celebration this Friday. The parade starts at the First Baptist Church at noon and travels to the Willow Community Center. Following the parade is a celebration at the Community Center; there will be a contest for the most patriotic outfit and a community BBQ beginning at 1:30pm. More information on WACO's Facebook Page.

“Making the Audible Visible” Painting Class – Denali Arts Council
Sheldon Community Arts HangarDenali Arts Council is offering a two-day improvisational "Live Art" painting workshop with Denise Iacovone (“E-ya-ka-vone-ay”). The “Making the Audible Visible” Painting Class focuses on improvisational art and runs in conjunction with the Talkeetna Jazz Workshop. The first meeting takes place during the jazz workshop dress rehearsal on Thursday July 3rd from 4:30-7:30pm. The second meeting is at the final concert on Saturday July 5th from 6 to 8:30pm. Jazz Concert – Denali Arts Council
Sheldon Community Arts HangarDenali Arts Council hosts a Jazz Concert with Maestro Rocco John Iacovone (“E-ya-ka-vone-ay”) at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. Rocco's Jazz Workshop attendees present their final performance with special musical guests, Joel Mosier and Steve Durr. Additionally, led by Denise Iacovone, painters from the Making the Audible Visible workshop will be on stage painting during the performance. Doors open at 6:30pm and the music starts at 7.

Willow Public LibraryHere’s what’s coming up at the Willow Public Library:
- Willow Library Mentoring Program meets each Wednesday from 3:15 to 4:30pm. This program is open to all Willow Elementary Students. Additional mentors are needed.
- Story Time followed by free play in the Community Center is on Thursdays at 11am. This is geared toward ages 0-5, but all are welcome.

Summer Reading Program – Talkeetna Public Library
Talkeetna Public Library TalkeetnaThe Talkeetna Public Library's Summer Reading Program is on Thursdays until August 7th, with the following activities:
- Storytime for ages 0-7 begins 11am with a snack, stories, and a craft. The theme this week is Rock Painting and the kids will begin to make a William Snakespeare rock sculpture.
- Lunch on the Lawn for all ages up to 18 is at 12pm.
- The Summer Reading Program for all ages begins at 1pm. Elaborate rock painting is the activity, and the kids will have a chance to add to the rock-snake sculpture.
- Reading logs may be turned in at the front desk on Thursdays.
