Talkeetna Recycling Seeks Volunteers
Talkeetna Recycling is seeking new volunteers. They are hosting volunteer training on Tuesday, October 7th, at 11:30am. Training is for both current and new volunteers. Public Information Meeting for Susitna Forestry Guidelines
Tuesday, October 7, the Alaska Division of Forestry & Fire Protection is hosting a virtual Public Information Meeting regarding the revision of the Susitna Forestry Guidelines. The meeting will be on Microsoft Teams from noon to 1:30pm. Follow the meeting link in the announcement on ktna.org. The meeting will also be on the big screen at the Talkeetna Library. Heart Like a Mountain, Book Reading & Signing – Denali Arts Council
Sheldon Community Arts HangarDenali Arts Council hosts Suraj Holzwarth, presenting her new book, Heart Like a Mountain on Friday, October 10th at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar, from 7 to 8pm. In 1979 at the age of 19, Suraj became the youngest woman to summit Denali. In her memoir, she shares a spirited account of the 30-day expedition which began in the Peters Hills, leading through some of Alaska's most remote wilderness before reaching Denali's Base Camp. Saraj will read from her book, present a slide show and will be available for book signings.

Sheldon Community Arts HangarSaturday, October 11th is Denali Arts Council’s Take Back the Town party and annual meeting. This year's event is an autumn themed masquerade ball. The membership meeting, dinner, and elections start at 5:30pm. Attendees can vote on board members and renew their memberships. Following the meeting, the doors open to the public for the Denali Cooks and Friends at 7pm.
