Toddler Time – Talkeetna Public Library
Talkeetna Public Library TalkeetnaA new program is starting at the Talkeetna Public Library; Toddler Time. Beginning on Monday, October 20th from 4 to 5pm. This weekly program is for ages 1 to 3 years old, but all are welcome. This will be a a time for parents, guardians, grandmas and pas to participate in fun activities with their toddlers. As mentioned in this week's StarDate Susitna, Kathleen Fleming will have big binoculars on a tripod aimed at Comet Lemmon, Tuesday evening 8-9pm, near the river at the end of Main Street Talkeetna. You are welcome to join her, and hopefully there will be a clear northwest sky.

Talkeetna Public Library TalkeetnaThe Talkeetna Public Library hosts a new afterschool program; The Sizzle & Stir Club beginning on Wednesday, October 1st. This cooking program is open to 4th and 5th graders and homeschool students are welcome. Transportation from Talkeetna Elementary School to the library will be provided by Sunshine Transit. The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
Denali Drama and the Music Academy presents the musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Friday and Saturday October 24th, and 25th. Winner of the Tony and Drama Desk Awards for Best Book, this hilarious musical follows six contestants in a spelling competition. The doors open at 6:30 and the show begins at 7pm. Volunteers are needed for the Reading Mentors programs on Tuesdays at 3:15 to 4:30pm, chefs for the soon-to-start Stone Soup adult cooking group, as well as volunteers to work in the library. Talkeetna Community Council – deadline for a write-in candidate
The Talkeetna Community Council's annual election takes place on election day, November 4th, at the Talkeetna Public Library. The deadline for a write-in candidate is 5pm today (Tuesday, October 28th). The Talkeetna Community Council represents the community as a means of citizen participation in local and State government issues, as well as providing a platform for various community services and development projects. The candidate is required to live within the Talkeetna Community Council area, more information at talkeetnacouncil.org.
