    Talkeetna Elementary PTA is hosting a bake sale at the Oosik start line from 10am until 1pm on Saturday, March 8th. In addition to individually wrapped baked goods and healthy trail snacks, they will have water, hot chocolate, and electrolytes.

    Susitna River Coalition is gauging interest for a timber grading workshop with the Department of Natural Resources for the Upper Susitna Valley. Please contact margaret@susitnarivercoalition.org if interested in attending to learn about this free, one day training. If there is enough interest, this workshop could be hosted in the area.

    AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) tax representatives are available to assist local residents on completing their 2024 taxes. They will be at the Upper Susitna Community and Senior Center from 10am until 4pm every other Wednesday, until April 9th. Assistance is by appointment only, you can schedule by calling 211 or (800) 478-2221 or visit taxappointment.aarp.org. Available dates are: February 26th, March 12th, March 26th, and April 9th. Appointments are available on alternative Wednesdays at Houston City Hall.

    • Willow Library Mentoring Program meets each Wednesday from 3:15 to 4:30pm. This program is open to all Willow Elementary Students. Additional mentors are needed.
    • Story Time followed by free play in the Community Center is on Thursdays at 11am. This is geared toward ages 0-5, but all are welcome.

    Multi Users of Talkeetna Trails (MUTT) are hosting a Community Campfire Gathering on Sunday, March 16th from 2 to 4pm, at the Talkeetna Lakes Park Stadium off of Comsat Road. All are welcome to bring their dogs, hit the trails and and share stories with fellow trail users. There will be an info booth and a warming station. Due to current trail conditions, the 3rd Annual Rich Crain Classic is moving to a dry land race later in the spring. More information at talkeetnamutt.org.
