    AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) tax representatives are available to assist local residents on completing their 2024 taxes. They will be at the Upper Susitna Community and Senior Center from 10am until 4pm every other Wednesday, until April 9th. Assistance is by appointment only, you can schedule by calling 211 or (800) 478-2221 or visit taxappointment.aarp.org. Available dates are: February 26th, March 12th, March 26th, and April 9th. Appointments are available on alternative Wednesdays at Houston City Hall.

    D&S Road Services is rehabilitating Main Street in Talkeetna beginning today (Thursday, March 27th). They ask that all vehicles and obstacles remain removed from Main Street for the duration of this project. The work is expected to be completed by 5pm (on Thursday).

    Here’s what’s coming up at the Willow Public Library:

    • Willow Library Mentoring Program meets each Wednesday from 3:15 to 4:30pm. This program is open to all Willow Elementary Students. Additional mentors are needed.
    • Story Time followed by free play in the Community Center is on Thursdays at 11am. This is geared toward ages 0-5, but all are welcome.

    Denali Arts Council's after school theater program, Made for the Stage, presents their fantasy production, Quest – One Play to Rule them All. There will be three performances at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar:

    • Friday, March 28th will be a soft opening/dress rehearsal. The community is welcome to watch as the kids work through final details of the show. Doors open at 6:30, the show begins at 7pm.
    • On Saturday, March 29th, doors open at 6:30pm and the performance begins at 7pm.
    • A Sunday Matinee is on March 30th, doors open at 1:30 pm and the performance is at 2pm.
