    Denali Arts Council hosts Arctic Entries on Saturday, April 5th at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. Seven storytellers tell their story on the theme of All in the Family: Stories of Taking Root, Branching Out, and Breaking Free. The musical guest is Jimmy Sandy. Doors open at 6:30pm and stories start at 7pm. Tickets available at denaliartscouncil.org.

  • Salmon Run Art- Talkeetna Historical Society

    Talkeetna Historical Society has fish templates available to purchase for our 2025 Salmon Run Art Auction. Showcase your artistic abilities and support the Museum by decorating a wooden salmon, to be displayed in the Hangar for the month of July. Salmon must be completed by June 15th.     AARP Tax Assistance appointments

    AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) tax representatives are available to assist local residents on completing their 2024 taxes. They will be at the Upper Susitna Community and Senior Center from 10am until 4pm every other Wednesday, until April 9th. Assistance is by appointment only, you can schedule by calling 211 or (800) 478-2221 or visit taxappointment.aarp.org. Available dates are: February 26th, March 12th, March 26th, and April 9th. Appointments are available on alternative Wednesdays at Houston City Hall.

    • Willow Library Mentoring Program meets each Wednesday from 3:15 to 4:30pm. This program is open to all Willow Elementary Students. Additional mentors are needed.
    • Story Time followed by free play in the Community Center is on Thursdays at 11am. This is geared toward ages 0-5, but all are welcome.
