Salmon Run Art- Talkeetna Historical Society
Talkeetna Historical Society has fish templates available to purchase for our 2025 Salmon Run Art Auction. Showcase your artistic abilities and support the Museum by decorating a wooden salmon, to be displayed in the Hangar for the month of July. Salmon must be completed by June 15th. AARP Tax Assistance appointments
Upper Susitna Community and Senior Center 16463 E. Helena Ave. / Mile 98.5 Parks Hwy., Sunshine, AlaskaAARP (American Association of Retired Persons) tax representatives are available to assist local residents on completing their 2024 taxes. They will be at the Upper Susitna Community and Senior Center from 10am until 4pm every other Wednesday, until April 9th. Assistance is by appointment only, you can schedule by calling 211 or (800) 478-2221 or visit taxappointment.aarp.org. Available dates are: February 26th, March 12th, March 26th, and April 9th. Appointments are available on alternative Wednesdays at Houston City Hall.

The Risan Project, Films & Concert – Denali Arts Council
Sheldon Community Arts HangarDenali Arts Council hosts The Risan Project at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Thursday, April 10th. The evening begins with a screening of Northward, a short documentary on Todd Anders Johnson’s band, Salem, touring and backcountry snowboarding in Alaska. This is followed by the expedition-based climate change documentary Cresta Alta, chronicling a journey to Alaska, Iceland, Chile and Peru to document glaciological research expeditions and sustainability. Followed by a discussion and Q&A. The night concludes with a live concert by Salem, blending alt-rock, world, hip-hop, jazz, and neo-soul. Doors open at 6:30pm and the shows begin at 7. The Talkeetna Community Council is accepting grant applications for their Community Assistance Program (CAP). Applications may be submitted electronically at talkeetnacouncil.org/cap - both an online fillable form and downloadable PDF are available. Completed applications are due by Friday, April 11th.

Denali Education Center open positions
Denali Education Center is hiring for three local seasonal positions:
- Youth Field Educator, focused on leading youth programs in Talkeetna, with the opportunity to lead camping trips in the Denali region
- Talkeetna Educator, focused on the planning, preparation, and delivery of Talkeetna’s suite of youth and adult programming
- Instructor-in-Training, an opportunity for 16 to 21-year-olds to get hands-on experience leading youth programming in Talkeetna
