    There will be curling Monday and Wednesday evenings at the Talkeetna Elementary Jack MacDonald Ice Rink. There will be draws at 5pm, 6pm and 7pm. Registration and more information at talkeetnacurling.org.

  • Strong Women Exercise Group – Talkeetna Public Library

    Strong Women exercise group meet at 10 am at the Talkeetna Public Library on Tuesdays and Thursdays. A Zoom option is available. This program is aimed at improving strength, balance and flexibility for women over 40 years old. Newcomers are always welcome, weights and instructions are provided. Talkeetna Library is open 11am to 6pm, but the door is opened early for Strong Women.

  • Mat-Su Health Foundation Focus Group

    The Mat-Su Health Foundation is hosting a discussion group with a focus on community health needs at the Talkeetna Public Library on Tuesday, April 29th from 11:30am until 12:30pm. Discussions will include what opportunities support health and wellbeing, and what services and healthcare access are needed in your community. Pre-registration is not required, but is appreciated.   • Student Scholarship Opportunity – Trapper Creek Community Services Association

    Trapper Creek Community Services Association has a scholarship opportunity for seniors currently enrolled at Susitna Valley High School, or homeschooled and permanently residing in the TCCSA boundaries, who will be attending a post-secondary, technical, or vocational school next year.     Here’s what’s coming up at the Willow Public Library:

    • Willow Library Mentoring Program meets each Wednesday from 3:15 to 4:30pm. This program is open to all Willow Elementary Students. Additional mentors are needed.
    • Story Time followed by free play in the Community Center is on Thursdays at 11am. This is geared toward ages 0-5, but all are welcome.

  • Talkeetna-Trapper Creek Birdathon

    The 35th annual Talkeetna-Trapper Creek Birdathon begins on Friday, May 2nd, at 6 pm and continues until 6 pm on Saturday, May 3rd. Area residents and their guests are welcome to participate by identifying as many species of birds as can be found in the count circle during the 24 hour period. You can go birding by yourself or with family or friends, traveling “green” or using a vehicle. Participants gather around a fire in the evening on Saturday. The gathering will be on the gravel bar near the corner of Third and B Street, past the Talkeetna Inn.  If you have questions, leave a message for Jeff or Deb at 907 733-2066.
