    Strong Women meet at 10am in person and on Zoom at the Talkeetna Library every Tuesday and Thursday (except of course this and next Thursday due to holiday closures). This exercise group focuses on improving balance, flexibility, and strength. All equipment is supplied, and there is no fee to attend.     Watercolorist, Miles Bloomfield, is instructing a series of Winter Plein Air Painting classes. Classes are from 1 to 4pm at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar each Tuesday in the month of January. This is an outdoor painting class, so participants should dress for the weather. If temperatures are too cold, the class will be held indoors. All supplies are provided. Sign up is available at denaliartscouncil.org. Drop-ins are welcome if space allows.

    Here’s what’s coming up at the Willow Public Library:

    • Willow Library Mentoring Program meets each Wednesday from 3:15 to 4:30pm. This program is open to all Willow Elementary Students. Additional mentors are needed.
    • Story Time followed by free play in the Community Center is on Thursdays at 11am. This is geared toward ages 0-5, but all are welcome.

    The Annual Audubon Christmas Bird Count begins on December 30th. This is a fun citizen science project that relies on volunteers to collect information on bird populations. There are two options for people to participate- either as a field counter or if you have a bird feeder set up, you can count birds from the comfort of your home.
