The Susitna River Coalition is working in partnership with Alaska Safe Riders to host a Backcountry & Ice Travel Safety Presentation on Tuesday, December 9th at 6pm at the Upper Susitna Senior Center. This is an educational presentation on safe travel in backcountry and ice conditions for snowmachines. The session will include information on recognizing signs of weak or unsafe ice, recommended safety equipment, and response steps in the event of a breakthrough. Denali Arts Council hosts a Matinee of the performance, Laughing All the Way to the Brink, at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Sunday, December 14th. This theatrical event is part of the Climate Theater Festival and will feature seven short plays by playwrights from around the world. While climate change is very serious, most of these plays are very not. Doors open at 2:30, and the performance is at 3pm.
