    Denali Arts Council hosts a night of music with professional actress and theater director, Kaitlin Lawrence, on Saturday, June 28th at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. Kaitlin’s performance includes a setlist ranging from show tunes to Bonnie Raitt and original songs, with a splash of Broadway flair. Doors open at 6:30pm, the show starts at 7.

    Storytime begins at 11am with a program by Alaska Wildbird Rehabilitation group. After Lunch on the Lawn, there will be another bird from the Wildbirds group beginning at 12:45. Following that, all are welcome to stay and have fun with Sharon and her amazing bioluminescent dinoflagellates!

    Denali Arts Council is offering a two-day improvisational "Live Art" painting workshop with Denise Iacovone (“E-ya-ka-vone-ay”).  The “Making the Audible Visible” Painting Class focuses on improvisational art and runs in conjunction with the Talkeetna Jazz Workshop. The first meeting takes place during the jazz workshop dress rehearsal on Thursday July 3rd from 4:30-7:30pm. The second meeting is at the final concert on Saturday July 5th from 6 to 8:30pm.     The Willow Area Community Organization (WACO) hosts Willow's 4th of July Parade and Celebration this Friday. The parade starts at the First Baptist Church at noon and travels to the Willow Community Center. Following the parade is a celebration at the Community Center; there will be a contest for the most patriotic outfit and a community BBQ beginning at 1:30pm.
