The Chase Community Council quarterly meeting is on Monday, July 14th at 7pm at the AKRR mile 232 gravel pit.

The Talkeetna Public Library's Summer Reading Program is at 1pm today (Thursday). This week Solstice Rescue Dogs will be at the library with dogs that are specially trained to rescue people from danger. There are three more weeks of activities and reading incentives, all ages are welcome to attend. The Trapper Creek Community Council meets the 3rd Thursday of every month at 6:30pm at the Trapper Creek Community Center. The next meeting is July 17th.  All are welcome to attend.

Denali Arts Council and Talkeetna Chamber of Commerce host Live at Five, a family friendly music event at the Talkeetna Village Park, on Fridays at 5pm, rain or shine. This Friday the band is Boot Juice.

Talkeetna Recycling and Valley Recycling are hosting electronic waste and miscellaneous plastic collection at the Upper Susitna Community and Senior Center on Saturday, July 19th, from 11am until 3pm. More information at valleyrecyclingak.org.

Trapper Creek Community Services Association hosts the 18th annual Fireweed Festival on Saturday, July 19th at the Trapper Creek Community Park from 11 am until 6 pm. There will be live music, craft vendors, food trucks, a dunk tank and more. More information at trappercreek.org/events.
