    Denali Arts Council hosts the 4th annual Talkeetna Art Festival at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar and Talkeetna Historical Society Museum on Saturday and Sunday, May 24th and 25th, beginning at 12pm. They remind area residents to plan ahead by calling 907-376-2273 to request prescription refills, schedule appointments, or take care of any medical needs before the holiday weekend.

  • Talkeetna VFW Post 3836 Ceremony

    Talkeetna VFW Post 3836 honors its fallen members every Memorial Day. This year the ceremony is on Monday, May 26th at 11AM at the Talkeetna Cemetery. A potluck will be hosted at the Myron “Ace” Ebling VFW Post 3836 at the conclusion of the ceremony. All are welcome.

  • Talkeetna Skatepark Committee Meeting

    The Talkeetna Skatepark Committee is meeting on Wednesday, May 28th at 6:00PM at the proposed skatepark location next to the Wild Woods playground. This will be a site cleanup followed by a meeting afterwards. All are welcome to attend.

    Registration for the Talkeetna Public Library's Summer Reading Program begins on Wednesday, May 28th and is open through the summer. The Summer Reading Program is on Thursdays with the following categories:

    • Storytime for ages up to 7 begins at 11am with stories, a snack, and a craft. The theme this week is Making Friends at the Library.
    • Lunch on the Lawn is at 12pm. This week is a Barbecue for participants; registered or planning to register.
    • The Summer Reading Program for all ages begins at 1pm. This week features Field Day Games.

  • Don Sheldon Memorial Reception

    The public is invited to a Don Sheldon Memorial Reception and Statue Reveal at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Saturday, May 31st to honor the life and flying of Talkeetna's pioneer bush pilot, Don Sheldon. Attendees are welcome to share stories of Don at 5:00pm. There is a community potluck at 6:00pm followed by live polka music from Alaska's Main Squeeze.

  • Recycle Revival Music Fest
