There is a clean up day at the Talkeetna Cemetery on Saturday, May 24th starting at 10am. All are welcome.

Both Willow and Talkeetna Sunshine Community Health Center clinic locations are closed on Monday, May 26th in observance of Memorial Day. They remind area residents to plan ahead by calling 907-376-2273 to request prescription refills, schedule appointments, or take care of any medical needs before the holiday weekend.

The Mat Su Libraries are closed on Monday, May 26th in observance of Memorial Day. This includes Willow, Talkeetna, and Trapper Creek.

Talkeetna VFW Post 3836 honors its fallen members every Memorial Day. This year the ceremony is on Monday, May 26th at 11AM at the Talkeetna Cemetery. A potluck will be hosted at the Myron “Ace” Ebling VFW Post 3836 at the conclusion of the ceremony. All are welcome.

The Talkeetna Skatepark Committee is meeting on Wednesday, May 28th at 6:00PM at the proposed skatepark location next to the Wild Woods playground. This will be a site cleanup followed by a meeting afterwards. All are welcome to attend.

Willow Dog Mushers Association meets at 7pm on the 4th Wednesday of each month at the Willow Community Center. The next one is on May 28th. Denali Arts Council and Talkeetna Chamber of Commerce host Live at Five, a family friendly music event at the Talkeetna Village Park, on Fridays at 5pm, rain or shine. The band this week is Leo Ash Blues Band.

The public is invited to a Don Sheldon Memorial Reception and Statue Reveal at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Saturday, May 31st to honor the life and flying of Talkeetna's pioneer bush pilot, Don Sheldon. Attendees are welcome to share stories of Don at 5:00pm. There is a community potluck at 6:00pm followed by live polka music from Alaska's Main Squeeze.

Valley Community for Recycling Solutions' annual, Recycle Revival Music Fest is on Sunday, June 1st, at Skeetawk in Hatcher Pass, starting at 1PM. This family-friendly event includes food trucks, a beer garden, lift rides, and live music. Learn more at valleyrecyclingak.org.

The Talkeetna Community Council meets at 7pm on the first Monday of each month at the Talkeetna Public Library and over Zoom. The next meeting is June 2nd. More information, including the Zoom link at talkeetnacouncil.org.

This week, Talkeetna Community Schools hosts Toddler Gym Time on Tuesday, June 3rd from 4:30-6pm at the Talkeetna Elementary School.
