Storytime – Talkeetna Public Library
Talkeetna Public Library TalkeetnaTalkeetna Public Library hosts Storytime every Thursday at 11:15am. The theme this week is Penguins. There will be stories, snacks and a penguin craft. All ages are welcome. Grab and Go craft kits will be available after 1pm in the foyer for those unable to attend. Talkeetna Public Library TalkeetnaTalkeetna Library is looking for some volunteers for the Summer Reading Program. If you have a special skill or craft that you would like to share with the kids in Talkeetna, please give the library a call at 907-861-7645. Most programs take place on Thursdays between 11am and 2pm, with the age groups of 0-6 and 6 to 15.

There will be balcony seating upstairs and limited tables available downstairs. The doors open at 6:30 and the show starts at 7pm. Tickets available at www.denaliartscouncil.org.

Talkeetna-Trapper Creek Birdathon
The 35th annual Talkeetna-Trapper Creek Birdathon begins on Friday, May 2nd, at 6 pm and continues until 6 pm on Saturday, May 3rd. Area residents and their guests are welcome to participate by identifying as many species of birds as can be found in the count circle during the 24 hour period. You can go birding by yourself or with family or friends, traveling “green” or using a vehicle. Participants gather around a fire in the evening on Saturday. The gathering will be on the gravel bar near the corner of Third and B Street, past the Talkeetna Inn. If you have questions, leave a message for Jeff or Deb at 907 733-2066.

Wildland Preparedness Public Education Day – Willow Caswell Fire Station

Willow Community Clean-up
Willow Community CenterWillow Area Community Organization hosts the annual Willow Community Clean-up from 12 to 5pm on Saturday, May 3rd and Sunday, May 4th. Yellow trash bags may be picked up from Newman's Gas Station, Roni's Deli, and the Willow Community Center Lobby. A dumpster is available in the Community Center parking for collected trash from MatSu Borough Roadways, Right of Ways and Public Lands. More information at waco-ak.org.
