  • Lightwire Theater Puppeteering & Storytelling Workshop – Denali Arts Council

    Denali Arts Council and Friends of the Talkeetna Library host Lightwire Theater, presenting a puppeteering and storytelling workshop at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Saturday, April 19th from 10:30 to 11:30am. They will first show off their puppets, demonstrate how they work and answer questions. They will then lead families into creating their own puppets using everyday household items. Open to all ages.     Denali Education Center hosts their annual Earth Day Celebration with a non-profit and civic engagement fair on April 19th from 11am until 3pm. This event includes kids activities, a PTA Bake Sale, food, and more. Learn more on their Facebook Event Page.

    Also at Earth Day there will be Electronic Waste Collection. Computers, phones, TVs and similar will be accepted as well as small appliances, cords and cables, fluorescent bulbs, and standard household alkaline batteries. Please do NOT bring lithium, nickel, rechargeable, or lead acid batteries, ballasts, large appliances, or anything with liquid in it.

    Denali Arts Council hosts a puppet show with Lightwire Theater – presenting an electroluminescent theatrical retelling of the Tortoise and Hare for the whole family. This final performance of the Denali Arts Council’s Performing Arts Season is at Su Valley Jr/Sr High School on Saturday, April 19th. Doors open at 6:30pm, the show begins at 7pm.
