    Trapper Creek Community Services hosts the Fireweed Festival on Saturday, July 18th at the Trapper Creek Community Park. The festival is filled with craft vendors, food trucks, live music, and fun entertainment.     The Upper Susitna Softball Association is offering all kids complementary hot dogs and hamburgers for participating in a softball game and skills competition this Friday, June 19th starting a 3:30 PM at the ball field in Talkeetna. The fun will conclude before Live at 5. This event is for kids of ages around 5-13 years years old.

    Sheldon Community Arts Hangar

    Professional teaching artist, Denise Iacovone is offering 3 art workshops this summer at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar.
    The first is a Contour Line Drawing Workshop. Participants will learn how to work in contour line, creating multiple experimental drawings in a studio setting. This two-day workshop is on Friday, June 26th, and Monday, June 29th.

    Mountain High Pizza Pie

    The band Triple Black Diamonds perform as part of a campaign to raise awareness for Multiple Sclerosis on Saturday, June 27th starting at 7pm at Mountain High Pizza in Talkeetna. You can learn more about their campaign with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society online.

    Professional teaching artist, Denise Iacovone is offering art workshops this summer at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar.
    The third and final workshop is a Paint and Sip Master class on the work of Vicki McGrath, Painter of Color and Composition. This workshop is on July 3, 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. More information and registration for all the there workshops is available at denaliartscouncil.org

  • Talkeetna Historical Society seeking artists

    Talkeetna Museum

    The Talkeetna Historical Society is seeking artists to decorate wooden salmon cutouts for their upcoming Salmon Run Art Auction fundraiser. The completed artwork is due by July 15th. Those who are interested may stop by the museum or call Autumn at (907)304-0321 to coordinate a pickup time. The museum is open every day from 9am to 5pm.
