Sheldon Community Arts HangarHoliday in Whoville is Friday and Saturday, December 20th and 21st at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. This interactive dramatic reading of the Grinch stories is family friendly. Doors open at 6:30pm and the show is at 7pm. Bring an ornament to decorate a Whoville tree, or make one when you come.

Willow Public LibraryThe Willow Library Association and Willow Trails Committee host the Festival of Trees Open House and Winter Solstice Walk on Saturday, December 21st from 5 to 7pm, at the Willow Public Library and Willow Lake. Trees have been decorated by local businesses and community members. Coffee, cider and treats will be served.

Friends of the Talkeetna Library meeting

- The Friends of the Talkeetna Library meet Friday, January 10th, at 1pm. A Zoom option is available. All are welcome.
- Reading Mentors begins on Tuesday, January 14th from 3:15 to 4:15 pm. The program is for 2nd to 4th graders, and homeschoolers are welcome. Space is limited and preregistration is required, this can be done at Talkeetna Elementary School or Talkeetna Library, in person or by phone.
- Staff are available to help file your PFD applications.

Solar System Class
As part of Talkeetna Community Schools, Kathleen Fleming will teach a one night class about observing our solar system on Thursday, January 16th from 6 to 8pm. Learn about seasonal changes in the night sky, the wandering planets, and the moon's movements. Suitable for adults and interested youths 10 years or older. Susitna River Coalition Winter Speaker Series
Susitna River Coalition begins their 2025 Winter Speaker Series with Angie Wade, Tribal Historic Preservation Officer and Culture & Historic Preservation Director with the Chickaloon Village. Angie will be discussing culturally modified trees, exploring how these trees carry significance for many Indigenous communities. This is a virtual event on Wednesday, January 22nd at 6pm.
