The Denali Nordic Ski Club is holding its annual membership and election meeting on Thursday, November 6th from 5 to 7:30 pm at the Sheldon Community Arts Hanger. They are kicking off the ski season with food, drinks, and updates on what's ahead this year. There will be a board member election, membership renewal and information on upcoming volunteer opportunities. All are welcome.  Attendees can bring gear for an opportunity to buy/sell/swap ski gear. The Talkeetna Ice Festival Committee is meeting at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar Friday, November 7th, at 4pm. Community members interested in participating in the Festival are welcome to come.

Upper Susitna Seniors Inc. is hosting a Holiday Bazaar at the Center on Saturday, November 8th from 10am to 4pm. There will be local artisans selling their goods and  homemade soup for sale. The Homemakers will be selling raffle tickets for their annual quilt raffle to raise money for high school student scholarships.

The Talkeetna Historical Society is holding its Annual Meeting on Thursday, November 13th, from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the Talkeetna Roadhouse. Attendees can enjoy soup, bread, and dessert, renew their membership, vote for new board members, and hear about the happenings at the museum this year and next. Denali Nordic Ski Club is hosting a volunteer mixer gathering at the Latitude 62 on Thursday, November 13th from 6-8 pm. There will be a meeting for all bachelors who are signed up for this year's Talkeetna Bachelor Society Auction & Ball on Saturday, November 15th at 6pm at the VFW. Denali Arts Council presents John Roberts y Pan Blanco at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Saturday, November 15th. With vocals in Spanish, English and Portuguese, this family friendly group is melding high-energy funk, African and Latin grooves with instrumental solos, aimed at sharing musical and cultural diversity with the audience. The Alaska Department of Natural Resources is hosting an informational meeting about the development of an updated Susitna Valley Forest Management Plan. The meeting is in person on Tuesday, November 18th from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the Upper Susitna Community and Senior Center.  The purpose of the meeting is to share information about the planning process and how members of the public can participate. An opportunity to provide input related to the proposed Susitna Valley state forest will also be provided at this meeting. Comments may also be emailed to dnr.dof.matsuplanning@alaska.gov.
