    Talkeetna Library hosts a class about Artificial Intelligence on Saturday, January 17th at 2pm. You can learn about what it is and how it helps. Topics covered with be learning to use virtual assistants like Siri, navigate with GPS, get recommendations for shopping, and how to recognize scams. This program is open to all ages, all are welcome.

    Save the date! KTNA hosts our Annual Celebration and Membership Meeting on Saturday, January 17th at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. Come hungry, we will have a taco bar from 5 to 6:30pm. This year we host a Vinyl Dance Party beginning at 6:30pm, dress up and dance the night away as our DJs spin vinyl records.   • Complexities of Love Rehearsals – Denali Arts Council

    Denali Arts Council is holding auditions for their annual variety show, Complexities of Love. If you have a talent you’d like to share—dance, music, comedy, poetry, puppetry, or anything else—they’d love to hear from you. Four rehearsals are scheduled on Sundays January 18th through February 8th, from 3 to 5 pm at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. You must attend one of these rehearsals and audition for Jenny in order to be included in the show.

  • Soccer Coach needed – Talkeetna Elementary School

    Talkeetna Elementary is seeking a coach to lead their 3rd–5th grade soccer program March 17 through May 7th, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-4:30pm. Coach teaches basic skills and holds scrimmages, no travel for games required. Applicants must be able to communicate effectively with participants and families, complete MSBSD coach requirements, including application, fingerprinting, and background check at the Administration Bldg. in Palmer. This program is for 1st through 3rd graders and is designed to help new readers get experience and confidence in reading out loud. Transportation from Talkeetna Elementary School to the library will be provided by Sunshine Transit.     Multi Users of Talkeetna Trails (MUTT) hosts a volunteer meeting for the 3rd annual Rich Crain Classic on Wednesday, January 21st at the Latitude 62 at 7pm. They are looking for volunteers to help with grooming trails, registration, tending a campfire and timing events.     The Talkeetna Public Library presents the program Unleash the Power of Your Library Card on Saturday, January 24, from 2-4pm. Participants will learn how to access Alaska and national newspapers, renew library items and put things on hold, and access digital and audio books and magazines for free using the Libby App. A current library card is required which can be obtained at the front desk as needed.     The Talkeetna Public Library hosts the Teen Book to Movie program this Saturday, January 24th, from 6 to 8pm. The program features The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins. This is the prequel story of the Hunger Games series. Teens 13 to 18 are invited for pizza and snacks and lively discussion on the book and its movie.
