Singing Zoologist Performance – Denali Arts Council
Sheldon Community Arts HangarThe Singing Zoologist will be performing at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Thursday, April 16th. With zany humor, smart songwriting and a deep love of animals, Lucas Miller brings the wonders of nature to life. The Singing Zoologist blends music, puppets and projected videos to keep audiences laughing, moving, singing and learning. This show is suitable for all ages. Earth Day Celebration – Denali Education Center

Scholarship opportunity – Sunshine Community Health Center
Sunshine Community Health Center (SCHC) Student Scholarship Program supports high school seniors pursuing degrees or certificates in health care, behavioral health, and social services by awarding scholarships of up to $2,500. These scholarships recognize students who have demonstrated leadership, community involvement, and a dedication to wellness, helping to build a stronger health workforce in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley and beyond.

Seeking Volunteers & Ideas for Discovery Days at Talkeetna Elementary
Talkeetna Elementary School is hosting Discovery Days on Monday, May 18th through Wednesday, May 20th, from 9:00 to 11:15 AM, and they are looking for community volunteers. Discovery Days give students a chance to explore hands-on activities—from art and music to outdoor skills, STEM, and local business experiences. Emergency Preparedness Fair – CERT
Willow Community CenterThe Willow, Talkeetna and Trapper Creek CERT host the 5th Biennial Su Valley Emergency Preparedness Fair at the Willow Community Center from 11am until 2pm on Saturday, May 30th, with education about preparedness for earthquakes, wildfires, floods, CPR, first aid, and backcountry safety. There will be indoor and outdoor exhibits with family activities for all ages, including live demonstrations, an earthquake escape room, door prizes and vendors.
