The Willow Health Organization hosts the Willow Farmers Market, an outdoor market at the Willow Community Center. The last market for the season is today (Friday, September 5th) from 2 to 7pm. This local market highlights items grown or made in Alaska.

Denali Arts Council hosts a concert with the band TAKE3 on Sunday, September 7th at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. TAKE3 is known for seamlessly weaving in and out of musical styles. Doors open at 6:30, the music starts at 7pm. More information and tickets at denaliartscouncil.org.

The Mat-Su Borough Library board meets this Tuesday, September 9th, at 1 pm at the Talkeetna Public Library. Topics include a new material acquisition policy that was inaugurated on September 1st. The library invites you to attend and welcomes persons to-be-heard at the meeting, each person will have 3 minutes to share their thoughts. The Talkeetna Library’s Breakfast Book Club will hold its first book club meeting of the season on Wednesday, September 10th at 9:30am. The book this month is Leading Men by Christopher Castellani. Copies are available at the library. Coffee, tea, and breakfast finger foods will be served. All are welcome to attend. There is also a Zoom option. Denali Arts Council hosts comedian Brooks Wheelan with his comedy show The Return to Alaska on Wednesday, September 10th at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. Doors open at 6:30pm, jokes start at 7pm. More information and tickets at denaliartscouncil.org.

Denali Arts Council hosts a Tiny Art Show and a Tiny Art Workshop at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Friday, September 12th from 4 to 6pm. Talkeetna Elementary PTA hosts the Talkeetna Trail Race tomorrow, Saturday, September 13th. Bib pickup and day of registration begins at 9:30am at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. More information on the Talkeetna Trail Race Facebook page.

Talkeetna Recycling is on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 12 to 4pm. There has been a lot of bee activity at recycling recently. The recycling team warns you to be very careful when on the ramp. If you are allergic to bees, please try to stay away until after a freeze.

Denali Arts Council hosts Sip 'n' Swap, Not Shop, a clothing, books, and reusable items swap, at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Sunday, September 14th from 2 to 5pm. All are welcome to bring freshly laundered clothing, books and usable items in great condition to swap with something new to you. Beverages will be available for purchase, please bring a snack to share.
