    Denali Arts Council and Talkeetna Chamber of Commerce host Live at Five, a family friendly music event at the Talkeetna Village Park, on Fridays at 5pm, rain or shine. The music this week is Svetlana Jazz Band.

The Seed Catalog has been put to bed, but there are some new and timely publications from the Co-Operative Extension Service.

    Denali Education Center hosts Mushrooms of Alaska, a talk and foray presented by Kate Mohatt and Noah Siegel exploring the wide variety of mushrooms native to the region. All are welcome to attend the lecture at the Susitna Hall in Talkeetna at 11am, followed by a mushroom foray at 1pm on Saturday, August 30th.     All Borough offices, including the libraries, will be closed this coming Monday, Sept 1st for Labor Day. The drop box is available, and the wifi is on 24/7.

  • Building families through adoption

    Alaska Center for Resource Families is hosting informational sessions about adoption via Zoom.

    Building families through adoption aims to prepare potential adoptive parents for the realities and joys of adoption. All potential adoptive parents are welcome but it is particularly valuable for persons wanting to adopt from Alaska’s foster care system.

    All classes are held from 10 am to 12 pm. on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning September 2nd and ending the 16th.
