Todays Announcements
KTNA maintains an online announcement and classified page to help keep our listeners informed. Announcements are mainly for nonprofits. Classifieds are for nonprofits as well as individual needs. The KTNA Community Calendar includes all announcements plus additional community events happening at local businesses.
There are three ways you can submit Announcements, Classifieds and events for the Community Calendar: through our online form, via email at info@ktna.org or by calling 907-733-1700.
Coming up on KTNA
In this week’s episode of Six Minute Science, Rachel Loehman, a Research Landscape Ecologist with USGS Alaska Science Center, shares the impacts of wildfire and how the intensity and the time between fires can change those landscapes. Six Minute Science is produced by KTNA’s Jenny Willoughby and airs Saturdays at about 6:25 after Ag Matters and again Tuesdays at 12:30pm after the midday news.
On the next Susitna Writer’s Voice, Michael Potter shares his culinary and other adventures on his recent trip to Hawaii. Susitna Writer’s Voice airs Sunday following the 6pm announcements and Monday at 12:30pm after the midday news. If you have a story or other original piece you would like to share, email info@ktna.org.
This week on Outdoor Explorer the guest is wildlife biologist Caroline Van Hemert.
Her new book has grown from years of watching the natural world change and a conviction that nature still has surprising and hopeful possibilities to offer if you know where to look. Tune into KTNA Sunday at 7pm to hear this Outdoor Explorer with host Martha Rosenstein.
KTNA’s annual listener survey closes soon. If you have not completed it yet, please take a few minutes to do so. Your input helps to guide KTNA’s program schedule and content over the next year. Just click on the link on our announcement page. You can also stop by the station during business hours for a printed copy.
