19 students from Talkeetna Elementary School competed at the Mat Su School District Elementary Cross Country Championships on Wednesday. The weather cooperated so runners were able to compete on dry, forested trails at Palmer High School. Beautiful autumn colors and moderate temperatures contributed to a quality experience for everyone. The team was lead by 4th grader, Maya Mossanen, who had the best individual place finish of the team in her mile and a half race.
All runners enjoyed the races, by cheering on their teammates and running their best. Coach Mannix would like to congratulate her team for showing tremendous sportsmanship and effort. Thanks to parents for all the support during the season and on race day.
