The Small Business Administration has followed FEMA in declaring a disaster for South Central Alaska due to flooding and strong-wind events. The SBA has made low-interest loans available to residential and business customers who have taken on financial burdens to to the acts of nature.
The Small Business Administration has disaster assistance loans available for people impacted by the disaster areas. The SBA will be holding workshops in January to help people apply for financial relief.
The disaster recovery loans can help fill the gap between FEMA’s funding for public infrastructure recovery, and the State of Alaska’s Disaster funding for private property and business owners.
The deadline for personal property losses is February 18th. Businesses with economic injury have until September 18th
Another disaster declaradtion the SBA recently made covers the Alaska Chinook Fisheries disaster, and any business that’s been impacted by the Chinook disaster this year qualifies for a recovery loan.
Representatives from the SBA will be at the Upper Susitna Senior Center on January 10th, 11th and 12th to help people apply for the emergency recovery loans.
