New facilities appear in Village Park
A new addition to Talkeetna Village Park arrived just in time for the last gasps of the tourist season. A two-seater vault toilet has been installed on the west side
The Downtown Park is still slated to receive a new and improved pavilion that will be installed north of the current pavilion’s location. The Department of Parks and Recreation has received written approval from the Alaska Rail Road to place the structure on the northern end of the park, which is owned by the Rail Road. It is possible that the new performance pavilion could be in before winter, but it is being held up in the design stage.
