Occultation of a bright star. In this image, from the Wikipedia page “occultation”, the crescent moon has just moved off of Aldebaran, brightest star in Taurus. Weather permitting, observers in Alaska could see a similar sight at the end of the occultation of Spica, brightest star in Virgo, Friday morning a little after 8 AM. Details in this week’s StarDate Susitna.
