The Susitna Community Council held elections last night. Four candidates sought four available director’s seats. Robert Coleman, Phenie Millier, Bob Dawson and Bronn Salmon will continue to serve on the council. The two alternate directors seats will be filled by Scott Holcomb, and will be joined by Bill Stearns.

The council discussed the pending status of a Community Improvement Project grant to build a warm storage unit on Deep Woods Way for Caswell Fire Services. The Warm storage unit will be useful in keeping water used in responding to emergencies from freezing.

The Council was awarded an operating grant in the amount of $400for winter trails maintenance. The Susitna Council Trails committee meets the third Thursday of the month at Sheep Creek Lodge.

The entrepreneur who presented his plans to build a 40-acre off-road recreation park on Montana Creek Road has withdrawn his intention after receiving a cool reception from the council and area landowners at the October meeting of the Susitna Council.
