Two missing Talkeetna juveniles were found safe and sound outside the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge at around 8 am Thursday.
According to the Alaska State Troopers, two Talkeetna minors were reported missing near Tigger Lake after their phones were found in shallow waters Wednesday night just after 8 pm. AST arrived on the scene after 9 pm. The Mat-Su Dive Team, Talkeetna Fire Department, MATSAR, FBI, and Alaska Bureau of Investigation made it to the scene within an hour of AST to assist in the search. Troopers said the groups searched on land and in the lake through the night.
A Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge employee drove to work early Thursday morning when they reportedly saw the two juveniles outside the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge near the parking lot. According to that employee, the juveniles said they were waiting for the bus when asked. The minors’ parents were then called, followed by the authorities.
After about 12 hours of searching, the children were reunited with their families.
